Oklahoma

Oklahoma's Reaching for the Stars is the state's comprehensive quality rating and improvement system for early care and education (ECE) programs. It categorizes providers into four levels of child care program quality, which are denoted by stars. All licensed providers are awarded at least one star. Reaching for the Stars allows policymakers to track programs' licensing status and compliance, as well as quality ratings in the areas of administrative policies, qualifications and training of staff, learning environment, parent involvement, and program evaluation. Currently, more than 4,000 licensed ECE providers participate in Reaching for the Stars. For more information, see http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/opre/cc/childcare_quality/oklahoma/oklahoma.pdf
